Looking around for community interest pieces in entertainment and gaming this week, a report about something I'd never really thought about caught my eye. Being an African-American professional gamer and Twitch streamer has its difficulties. Those difficulties include written and emote harassment, if a recent TwitchCon panel is to judge.

Long on promises and short on delivery, I’ve looked on with amazement for years as Microsoft failed to deliver on PC gaming initiatives and getting its product groups to work together. No offense to the hard working people in Redmond, but the company’s failure in PC gaming are hard to forget. First there was Games for Windows Live, then there was the second coming of Games for Windows Live. Then Microsoft rolled out Xbox Live achievements to casual games in Windows 8. Early in the spring, the company mentioned that it had another plan to alter its fortunes in PC gaming. It’s called the initiative Xbox Play Anywhere.

As I looked out of my giant office windows this afternoon, I noticed the leaves have already begun to fall. It’s time to start making plans for the fall. I provided a brief look at what PC and Xbox games I’m planning to play this fall in this month’s Ask The en. I want to deep dive into it a bit more here though, you know, in the interest in oversharing and all that.
Ten years ago this October, I started work on what would become ZuneSpring, then enConnected and finally The en. I made tons of new friends, all because we liked listening to music in those first few months. I went on to make even more friends when Zune met its end. There’s Marques Lyons, a man that needs no introduction, only a trombone. Will Devereux and I still argue over Star Trek and Star Wars every chance we get. Graham Skee, now out of the game and raising a beautiful family, taught me a lot about making your own dreams happen. So did Dave McLaughlin, Christa Charter and Matt Akers. As long as we're all being perfectly honest with each other, real life events and a hectic schedule are keeping me from completing Comcept and Armature's ReCore for Xbox One and Windows 10. I'm still planning to review it and I'm still enjoying it, just like I said in this week's Ask The En.
